LA CA GIRL |
My friends say I am easily amused. They are right. Like an ADD kid in a toy store, I am easily distracted by all of the wonderful things LA/CA has to offer. This blog will be my online version of my field notes from my adventures. Check back weekly for new pics, restaurant reviews and recaps of my shenanigans. |
Going.

It has been a while since I have done a good old fashion restaurant review. Well, I had lunch at a Japanese restaurant in Studio City called Daichan recently and have to tell you guys, it was pretty good! Not sure how their business will be affected now that SugarFish is opened next door, but the food was worth the visit. If I were you, I would order one of their specialties like the soups or bowls.
Here is what we had and how I rate it:
Cost:$$
Chicken gyoza- 4/5 (pretty good)
Shrimp and Veggie Tempura- 3/5 (the usual)
Hawaiian Garlic Chicken- 5/5 (crispy and totally bad for you but so yummy!)
Sashimi- Tuna, Salmon and Yellowtail- 4/5 (for freshness)
Yellowtail cut roll-3/5 (nothin’ special)
Shrimp Tempura & egg cut roll- 3.5/5 (no frills but did the job)
Check it out sometime:

SHOPPING ALERT!
I have found the coolest hat store —Goorin Bros.— With locations in LA (on Larchmont and on Melrose) and one in Pasadena, you won’t have to travel far to check one out. The shops have a vintage vibe with 100’s of hats displayed in mahogany library shelves and antique cabinets. You can check yourself out in antique mirrors or attend one of the store events and listen to live music. I have fallen in love with several of the handmade hats, though they don’t come cheap. They run anywhere from $25 (trucker hats)-$150 (check out the heritage collection!)
Moon Block Party will be taking over the streets of Pomona for a second year this summer for an entire day of music and art. The full line up for the multi-stage party was just released and features plenty of local favorites including Fool’s Gold, The Entrance Band, Sleepy Sun,
